This training focuses on effective skills for assessing, de-escalating, and diffusing a harmful or inappropriate behavior (bullying, harassment, physical violence) in situations when ICE may arrive. It provides participants with the tools they need to quickly recognize when they are bystanders, evaluate the consequences for everyone involved, and take action. Our training sessions promote nonviolent alternative approaches for defusing harmful situations and engaging with the aggressor and those subject to harmful acts.

*This advanced session will focus on the strategy of developing early response to ICE situations. It will include but not be limited to strategy for preparing to protect immigrants at a sensitive location, such as a school or religious community.

Objectives:
1) Increased awareness of active bystander intervention examples
2) Learning about ICE and situational awareness
3) Strategic tactics to mitigate harm during ICE incursions.

Payment is requested on a sliding scale. Please consider $50-$100 to support our work and help us better serve the community. No one will be turned away for lack of payment and we welcome you either way.
